China Adopts 15th Five-Year Blueprint

China has formally adopted its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), its blueprint for guiding its economic and social development. The plan is a central policy document that sets mandatory and indicative targets for the country's key sectors.


Its core focus is a strategic shift away from traditional heavy industry and infrastructure investment towards a modernized economic model. It emphasizes boosting domestic demand and building a robust circular economy to fuel growth and secure industrial chains amid global uncertainties. Crucially, the plan integrates China’s dual carbon goals, making the green transition a central driver of economic restructuring.

 

This plan aims to enhance national resilience, promote common prosperity, and steer the economy toward sustainable, innovation-led growth, ultimately shaping China’s future global competitiveness.
