China Bans Uncertified Power Banks on Domestic Flights

Effective 28 June 2025, China’s Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) has banned passengers from carrying power banks on domestic flights without a valid CCC (China Compulsory Certification) mark, with unclear labelling, or from recalled batches on domestic flights.   Why the Ban? Rising Safety Incidents: increased reports of fires/smoke from faulty power banks in 2025. Recalls and Revoked Certifications: multiple manufacturers had products recalled or CCC certifications suspended due to battery risks.   What This Means for Travelers? CCC Certification Mandatory : Power banks without a valid China Compulsory Certification (CCC) mark are not permitted on domestic flights. Recalled Devices Banned : Passengers must verify power banks are not part of any manufacturer recall list before flying.
